Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, password (hashed).
- Dog profile information: dog's name, pronoun/gender, age, breed, size, behavior concerns, household composition (kids/other pets), motivation profile.
- Payment information: processed and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. Pupgress does not directly store your full credit card number.
- Usage data: chat messages with Koa, training plan progress, streak/milestone data, app interaction analytics.
- Photos: if you choose to upload progress photos, these are stored securely and are only visible to you unless you explicitly choose to share/export a milestone card.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the Service (training plans, AI chat responses).
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (billing receipts, renewal reminders, password resets) and, if you opt in, product update emails.
- To monitor and improve Service quality, including AI response quality and safety guardrail performance.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or Terms of Service violations.
3. AI Processing
Chat messages you send to Koa and quiz responses used to generate your training plan are processed by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. We do not use your data to train Anthropic's or any third party's underlying AI models beyond standard API processing terms.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers necessary to operate Pupgress (Stripe for payments, Supabase for database/authentication, Anthropic for AI processing, email delivery providers).
- As required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of any person.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and dog profile data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we retain data for 90 days in case you resubscribe, after which it is deleted upon request or per our standard deletion schedule.
6. Your Rights (California Residents — CCPA)
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it's used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights

7. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools (e.g., PostHog) to understand how the Service is used and improve the funnel and product experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit, access controls, secrets management for API keys) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Pupgress is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice.
