Pupgress — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pupgress ("Pupgress," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Pupgress website, application, and services, including our AI dog-training assistant, "Koa" (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Account information: your email address and, if you create one, a password.
- Dog and quiz information: details you provide about your dog, such as name, breed, age, household situation, motivation, and the behaviors or goals you want to work on.
- Messages and photos: the messages you send to Koa and any photos of your dog you upload.
- Support and feedback: information you send us when you contact support or submit feedback.
Payment information: When you subscribe, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). Pupgress does not store your full card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy and security practices.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical and usage information such as device and browser type, and how you interact with the Service, used to keep the Service working, secure, and improving.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service, including generating your dog's personalized training plan and enabling Koa to give you relevant, remembered guidance;
- Process your subscription, payments, discounts, and renewals;
- Send you service-related messages (such as sign-in links, plan-ready notices, receipts, and, if you opt in, training reminders and updates);
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service and prevent abuse;
- Improve the Service and develop new features;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. AI and Your Messages
When you chat with Koa, your messages and your dog's profile are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. We use this information to give you personalized guidance and to maintain conversation context so you don't have to repeat yourself. We may review conversations (in a privacy-conscious way) to monitor quality, safety, and abuse, and to improve the Service.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service, including with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (for example, hosting, database, payment processing, email delivery, and AI processing), who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us;
- Partners for referrals/commissions: if you sign up using a partner's discount or referral code (such as a dog daycare), we may share limited, aggregate information needed to attribute the signup and calculate commissions. We do not share your chat contents or your dog's personal profile with partners for this purpose.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Pupgress, our users, or others;
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Notifications: you can control training reminders and marketing emails through your notification preferences in settings, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Essential service emails (like sign-in links and receipts) may still be sent.
- Access and deletion: you can access and update your account information in settings, and you can delete your account, which removes or anonymizes your personal data as described below.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example, California residents under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us at support@pupgress.com.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to retain limited information to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricting data access to the appropriate accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit and contain any incident.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
We are based in the United States and process information in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your location.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by posting the updated Policy with a new "Last updated" date). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
